Biden’s plan includes $130 billion to help schools reopen plus billions more to implement rapid COVID-19 testing, with the goal to have a majority of classrooms open nationwide within his first 100 days in office.
“We can do this if we give the school districts — the schools themselves, the communities, the states — the clear guidance they need as well as the resources they need that they can’t afford right now,” he said.
Regardless of political affiliation or who you supported in the election, there’s not much doubting the fact additional funding to help reopen schools can be useful. Of the funding earmarked for K-12 re-openings, the goal is to help source personal protective equipment, ensure schools have the needed school nursing resources, and help improve ventilation and air purification systems.
